SEF Business Aptitude Award
2009 SEF Award Winners
Nina Kieves - University of Minnesota

The SEF awarded Nina Kieves with $10,000 and a trip to the North American Veterinary Conference in Orlando where the award was presented. Nina is a third-year veterinary student at the University of Minnesota and a national officer of the VBMA. She is planning to pursue a small animal rotating internship next year with the hopes of completing a residency thereafter.
“The National SEF award is the most significant educational award of its kind. Business skills are increasingly important in the veterinary profession. Developing these skills at an early stage of veterinarians’ careers will propel the veterinary profession in the right direction. The SEF award helps to do just that,” said Kieves.
Nina was selected as the SEF’s Business Aptitude Award winner from among the national candidates based upon her resume and her well-crafted response to the SEF Business Case Study. “On behalf of the Simmons offices nationwide, we congratulate the national winner, Nina Kieves, and each of the 2008 regional award recipients," said Dave King, DVM, Simmons Southcentral and SEF trustee.
